Disney Bandanas

Granny made these beautiful bandanas for the girls. We thought they were a great way of keeping the hot Florida sun off their heads, especially in the water parks. Thank you Granny, best crafter in the world!

Top Tip: Buttons.

The button from my 21st birthday trip.

In WDW you can get buttons (or badges in the UK) for special occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries, first visits, just married, etc. And, they are free!!!

Last time we went to WDW we were celebrating my 21st birthday, and my mums 50th birthday. We got buttons to celebrate. All the cast members (which is what Disney workers are called) said happy birthday to us, and spoke to us, and it made me feel really special. A perfect way to celebrate a special day in the most magical place on earth!!!!!!!

Six buttons with sayings:

Do you want to eat a snowman???

I have made up these lovely little bags for the girls to build Olaf's to eat. I first made them for Lily's birthday party in January for her friends to tae home with them. But have made some more up for the girls to build over the summer too. We just use runny icing to "glue" the pieces together, then eat!!!

The printable for the label is from The Purple Pumpkin Blog, I love this blog and all the lovely printables!!!

Video Weekend #4

My mum and Dad  came for a visit this week, so they have been sharing all their favourite things about Disney with the girls.

We have been looking at pictures of cakes from Disney's Boardwalk. And watching this video too.

We enjoyed looking at the Mickey Mouse Ice Creams. My all time favourite is the Mickey ice cream sandwich one, Lily wants a Mickey choc ice and Daisy wants them all Haha!!!
We  looked at all the different sorts of ears we can wear on vacation too. A Disney holiday needs ears!!!

We spent some time watching videos of the animal safari in Animal Kingdom. This one was Daisy's favourite. And looking at pictures of Mummy and Granny on safari too...

We have been trying to watch some Disney films with the girls that they have not seen before, so they are familiar with all of the characters they will see. This weeks was The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Lily really enjoyed the film, and asked lots of questions about it as we watched. Daisy however was unimpressed, preferring to play duplo than watch (she mainly seems to enjoy frozen, peter pan and snow white).

Disney DIY #4- Princess Crowns

We really enjoyed making our princess crowns, and wearing them to the shops afterwards.

We made them by cutting crown (ish) shapes from cardboard, decorating with pens, stickers, paper flowers, jewels and glitter, hole punching both sides and threading ribbon through each end, then tying them onto our heads.

Give it a try!!!

Character Clothing #3

This will be James first trip to Disney too, and I didn't want him to feel left out so I made him a Disney t-shirt to match the ones I had made for the girls. I can't decide what to have printed on one for me.... Maybe Mummy Mouse. Any ideas???

Video Weekend #3

This weeks video was so much fun to watch. I decided to show the girls a Halloween parade as we are going to be in Disney for Halloween, and I wasn't sure if Lily would like it (she is a bit of a wimp) Actually though it was Daisy who was a bit scared, well until she saw the candy being handed out, then she looked at me and asked for some sweets!

Disney DIY #3- Making Fantasia Hats

One of the iconic landmarks of Disney World is now an iconic landmark in Granny's house too. We made these lovely Fantasia inspired hats to give to Granny and Grandad to get them excited for our holiday to see the real thing.

Easy to make too:
  1. Make a cone using cardboard or paper.
  2. Stick onto a donut shaped piece of cardboard/paper.
  3. Paint blue.
  4. And yellow felt stars and moons.
  5. Glitter to taste.

Disney DIY #2:Disney Dollar Castle.

I wanted the girls to have their own money to spend when we went to Disney World (probably to spend on tat that I will not want to pay £20 for lol!), so we are now giving them coins for helping with chores, sleeping well, eating meals, etc.

We decided we needed something very special to keep our Disney Dollars in, so we made a lovely castle money box.

It was fun to make using only: a shoe box, toilet roll tubes, paper, a raisin box, glue, pens and sticky tape.

Video Weekend #2

This weekend we took the girls swimming, and down the water slide at our local pool. S the videos we watched this week were looking at the water parks. Lily is very excited about going down all the big water slides.

We watched these videos: promotional video, Blizzard Beach, and Typhoon Lagoon.

We also watched a Winnie The Pooh film, "Pooh's Grand Adventure". The illustrations on this film are stunning, and I enjoyed watching this film myself, the girls enjoyed it too, although Daisy got a bit restless towards the end.

Character Clothing #1

The girls have never been to Disney before, so I wanted to get them something special to wear while we were over there. I decided to get these gorgeous t-shirts printed for them. I bought the tops at Primark, and had them printed at Personalize in Hartlepool. I am so excited to give them to the girls nearer to the holiday!
